Wheelchair Clinic Planning Committee

The Wheelchair Clinic Planning Committee works to organize year-round planning for wheelchair tennis clinics and other community events. The committee is also dedicated to fostering relationships in the broader Pittsburgh wheelchair sports community.

Sivashankar Sivakanthan
Sivashankar Sivakanthan has a T11 SCI and is wheelchair tennis USTA division C athlete, and also a wheelchair basketball athlete on the Pittsburgh SteelWheelers. He works in the field of rehabilitation engineering also on various adaptive sport projects.

Luke Perry
Luke Perry had a Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) in 2015 and has been a paraplegic ever since. He became an adaptive athlete in 2022 when he moved to Pittsburgh and has been playing tennis with the HPTC since 2024. He was inspired by the members and he joined the board to make a larger impact in the Pittsburgh SCI community.

Jake Schmalzriedt
Dr. Matthew Jacob Schmalzriedt is one of the key founders of wheelchair tennis program at Highland Park Tennis Club. He is 3rd in the USTA Division A ranking.
